English as a second language, very hard to understand, but basically trying to scam people, saying they are from Telstra and there are problems with my server.

Showed up on my phone as suspected spam one day, had the same number calling from Bribie Island the next day but declined the call, blocked & reported the number. Could be political spam or more call spoofing.

Caller: Claimed to be Telstra An Indian male claimed to be Alex from Telstra called me up and said my router was sending error messages to Telstra’s server. I was suspecting that it was a scam call but went ahead because I’m using Mates as my ISP. Asking me a bunch of non-sensical questions about what my NBN box lights look like, how many devices connected to my router, what the upload/download speeds and pings are. Long story short Alex claimed that it was the ping that affected my internet but I was too uncomfortable at that point that I said I would just contact Mates if my internet is slowing down. Alex then hung up the call immediately.
Long story short: Call your ISP guys. Another point is that Telstra wouldn’t give that much sh*t anyway about your internet so they suddenly being nice just doesn’t make any sense.

Indian accent guy says he’s from Telstra, says there’s suspicious activity on your internet, asks if you’ve ever shared your personal details with anyone, then asks for your personal details and password lol
