Claims to be CBA.
Got a call on my mobile that was just empty air. Luckily the number registered so I phoned it back. Robot voice claims to be the commonwealth bank. Asks for me to input my phonebank ID/code, account number etc. I had someone from the CBA phone me yesterday and asked me to verify my identify (bank account, etc) but I hung up since THEY PHONED ME so why would I need to verify anything to them.
So I'm calling this a scam since CBA always emails me or sends me snailmail.

Pretty sure it is really CW bank. I called them back and then checked my account while on hold. My home loan payment had failed to process for some reason. So I am guessing they were calling to advise transfer failed. Transferred the $ … see if they call again.

Scam automated call claiming to be CBA, very professional had names correct, I called back and sounded a lot like the CBA front end and telling you how to connect. Message even invites you to use the CBA App
Think its always best to work on the premise that your bank will call you back, and if they really want you they will find you.
Block asap

I had their number previously blocked. They’ve started calling again and this time twice as much. I get 4 missed call notifications a day for the past week. I have no idea how to stop getting notifications for a number I’ve blocked. Definitely a scam.

Scammer. Claims to be Commonwealth bank. Not CBA as they call on a private number!

Started getting calls in June started as pretending to be commbank and has recently started leaving voice msgs saying "this is not a marketing call press any key to continue" ended up calling my bank and it wasn't them 100% a scam

It is CBA Bank/overdues/collection - if you've missed a payment on something; loan, mortgage, default etc.... but I wouldn't be auto-entering any ID info just the same.

Sounded like the commbank voice lady thingy. But the give away was when it came to saying my name. Sounded like Stephen Hawking calling from beyond. To be honest, kind of hoping it was.

Yes I agree. They called me because my credit card was overdrawn. It's not a scam call.

I agree with AJ, ‘Y they’ want you to verify who you are and considering they called me why would I. Also know this; whenever these companies call you and advise you that the call is being recorded ask them to cease recording, they will probably tell you something like ‘I have to get my supervisor’ let them. Do not proceed with the call if they choose to not stop the recording, his is your rite! Lastly, if they ask you to verify also say know, they will then advise you to call them to verify before hanging ip because they cannot proceed without first verifying, this is the same for ALL big business .

Scam scam scam i don't even bank with who they claim to be.

Has called me today and once in the past about 6 months ago. I do not have anything to do with CBA so not sure why they would be calling me to pay an outstanding bill. I don't trust so will not pick up.

Guessing it’s a scam?? Keeps calling 5-10 times per day. Doesn’t leave an actual voice message, just white noise for 10 seconds. Calls on different 07 numbers too. It’s getting quite annoying. Leave an actual voice message if you’re a legit company.

Says it is from comm bank and uses my full name and asks me to press any key to continue. Persistant calls every day. I called the bank and they said they have no record of outgoing calls to me and no issues with my bank accounts.
