Yes, I can confirm they are scammers. First they rang as Telstra, I realised it was a scam and said I was with Optus. A short time later I received a call from 'Optus' from the same number. I know what scammers try access so I played along and they were attempting to gain remote control of my computer. After letting the scammer know my thoughts he acknowledged he was a scammer and even threatened me with ransomware.
Don't do anything unless the caller knows your details.

Caller: Allegedly Telstra

They said they were trying to help us get better internet, and they wanted us to use the keyboard, but we became suspicious at that point and they were not able to give us the assurance we sought.
