This is not the ATO - it is a scam. If you were being investigated by the ATO, you would receive a letter in the mail telling you that a particular tax return or activity statement was being reviewed and instructions as to how to respond.

That's not the ATO. There's a boiler room scam doing the rounds. Has happened around this time for the last few years. The ATO do not phone people, a hard copy notification is sent to postal address. Just hang up.
