This is a Debt collection agency (working for other companies like banks etc..)

This company rang my mobile, asking for my name, dob details and other highly confidential information etc, I am not about to give out this personal information, I do not know who the hell they are...

Caller: CHL Brisbane

Female caller rang and did not identify herself. Asked for someone who was not known to my property. When asked to identify herself and where she was ringing from only said 'Brisbane'. I called number back and was able to establish that the company was CHL Brisbane - a collection house acting on behalf of a number of companies. I advised the employee that it was unethical to ring someone and not identify yourself or your company before asking questions. I would not trust this company.

Some debt collection apparently that work on behalf of many financial institutions...they called me but my number was not in their system.

I received a text message from a mobile number with a reference number asking me to call this phone number. I called back. The guy was really happy but very short. He wanted me to tell tell him all of this personal information about myself. I said he contacted me to whit he said "no you called me". I reminded him that I was just responding to a text from his company and it is not right to be giving all of this personal information about myself to an unsolicited contact. He then said we are going around in circles. blah blah so I ended the call.

NEVER GIVE YOUR DETAILS UP TO ANYONE FROM AN UNSOLICITED CONTACT. NOT YOUR BANK, NOT A GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT, NO-ONE.

They called me today, stupidly I gave them my name and date of birth address. They claimed I was in debt to BOQ, I said I have to confirm with my wife. I hung up and called the wife who then called boq, end of story it’s a scam

Told me they were from my bank and there was a problem. Requested my DOB , and other information before they would disclose the reason for the call. I told him I don't disclose information over the phone and that I would call my bank. They had my full name and knew which bank I used, which was a bit scary. I called my bank and they advised there were no issues with any of my accounts and there were no notes regarding contact. Do not give any information to anyone calling from this number.

Message received asking me to call and quote a reference number re an overdue finance contract. I’ve never held a BOQ account. Easy to surmise that it’s a scam. Deleted and blocked.

Definitely a scam caller. The banks do not call directly like that. I did not confirm my identity (i.e. answer yes or no) as this is how these scammers record voice recognition. I told the guy (who had an accent) that he is a scam caller , told me to go onto the banks website to check it out. From that point I hung up .

Caller: Claiming to be working on behalf OF BANK OF QUEENSLAND

When I contacted Bank Of Queensland they had never heard of this number or why they were phoning me

Same just happened to me but I do have business with them

Someone called me claiming to represent the Bank of Queensland, with whom I have no business. Line was terrible; did not feel like a legitimate business; the person was very difficult to understand. They asked me to confirm my details, which makes no sense, given they called me. When I refused, they said that I should contact the Bank of Queensland to discuss the purpose of the call. I asked what the purpose was, and she would not tell me anything. I asked if there was anyone in particular at the Bank of Queensland I should contact and got no answer. I don't buy that this isn't a scam call. If this person was really a collections officer, she would have been able to at least provide me with some contact information for someone at BOQ to discuss the matters of her call.

Caller claiming to be recovering a debt from a company I have never had dealings with. Sounds bogus to me.

An overseas call centre rang our office, looking to speak to a worker who is not an office worker. I said I don't know all the employees names and I will call him back if we have someone by that name here (he then gave me the person's full and middle name). He claimed he was from an electrical company. Nothing added up so I googled this number and see I was right in thinking I was lied to.
