Caller: Indian guy

I had a phone call from this number as well as a Sydney number (02) 9071 0252. Both numbers are the same Indian person.

Tried to say that I had purchased an iPhone 7 that cost $399 through an Amazon account.

Firstly, I do not have an Amazon account (I even checked the Amazon login and it says put in your email and mobile number to log in) I put in my mobile number and it said that number didn’t exist on the Amazon service.

Secondly, why the hell would I purchase an iPhone 7 when I have an iPhone 13 max pro? Why would I downgrade?

Third, you got my name wrong on the initial pick up on top of that you didn’t say who you were (what company?). If you’re gonna scam somebody get yourself organised first!

This number and the number I listed is the same person because he tried phoning me back immediately three or four times and each time it kept flipping back between Brisbane and Sydney for the numbers.

THIS IS A SCAM!

This is a new angle to the scam. They claim to ring from Visa/Mastercard in the same breath advising the card has been compromised. (Visa and MC are separate institutions and do not know if a transaction is fraudulent. Your bank monitors transactions) The suspicious activity is supposed to be an Amazon item.
