SMS only - refused to talk - contacted on the pretext of looking for a counselling service, despite there being several professionals much closer to his/her location - which they cited as Burrum Heads. Said they had a disability of Spina Bifida - I offered Zoom (online) services, which he/she did not want. Asked if I would go to their location. Would not give name or any details. Seemed very cagey. I began to get a very uneasy feeling about the person. Indicated they would need to book an appointment, offered suitable times, and offered to send consent forms via email for them to fill out at home prior to the appointment and return by email.

I have just started to receive texts as well. Saying disability of spinal bifida. Keeps asking do I want to ask any questions about it and how sorry they are that their disability might be an inconvenience. I'm so confused. Doesn't answer if they are wanting a reiki session, just keeps looping back to asking if I want to ask and questions and do I offer massage with my service. Weird.

I just today had the exact same experience you are both outlining. Thought it was genuine but then started to get a weird feeling from some of the comments so just ended up blocking.

Firstly, thank you to the anonymous above. It has given me the confidence to write of my experience. This person text me and left over 15 texts per day over 3 days until I blocked them. They asked for my professional business services, but after 3 days, they were still not clear about what they wanted. I did not feel safe but wanted to remain kind and professional. But then they asked me to leave voice clips but refused to talk to me or reveal who they were outside of saying Will from QLD. They messaged me for three days nonstop from 7am to the pm. I felt unsafe, but I was concerned for me and for them because this is the most bizarre phone behaviour I had ever experienced. I tried my best to best to give them options but it took 3 days texting and still did not reveal or state what they wanted. They mentioned (in text) that they were a male called Will with a disability. I did not want to hurt their feelings but from the first text, I actually stated it sounded like a scam. They mentioned they had no support person or family to advocate for them. I feel like my kindness was abused and taken advantage of. Their writing was very clear and their endless texts were very well written, but despite this , they never answered questions and went in circles over and over for 3 days. My head thought scam but my heart felt bad and thought what if this person is genuine. They told me they were a man, but the writing was quite feminine sounding. I can't believe I let it go for so long. This person has made me feel very uncomfortable and strange throughout the entire process. They said they were shy but their texts were nothing short of shy. I would advise to block this person or say your only way of communicating is via phone call. I almost wanted to say please call lifeline or seek some support because this is not respectful or healthy to do to people.
