Caller: Scam call Home Affairs/ATO Received call with automated voice indicating I was subject to a criminal warrant for multiple illegal activities under my name, and to press 1 to speak with the Department of Home Affairs. Knowing it was a scam, I pressed 1 and was connected with a lady with an Indian accent. She asked me my name and date of birth - I supplied false details. She ‘retrieved my file’ and asked me to confirm my addressed. After spelling out the memorable street name from a suburb away, she hung up. I presume they will attempt to use my ‘details’ in a future scam.
