Caller: A Scammer a thief This guy has hijacked the Facebook page of Mayteck Automotives in Canberra, and no, he’s not a mechanic, he’s not in Canberra, and he’s definitely not here to help you find car parts. He’s a scammer sitting somewhere in Cameroon, pretending to be a business owner while using a stolen page like it’s his personal ATM.
Here’s his routine, it’s so predictable it should come with a laugh track:
He messages sellers on Facebook Marketplace claiming he has exactly what you’re looking for.
Or he pretends to be selling something himself, always a “bargain,” always too good to be true.
Then he gives you his number and asks you to call him. (Because, of course, he “can’t call you.” Scammers always lose the ability to dial numbers, tragic.)
And right on cue, he asks for a deposit. That’s when your money disappears faster than his excuses.
This is not a misunderstanding. This is not an accident. This is a scammer, a thief, and a professional time‑waster.
So do yourself a favour: Avoid this scammer like he avoids honesty.
