Caller (Indian accent) claimed to be from Melbourne company working on behalf of ACTEW/AGL and other companies. Claimed to be upgrading my plan to 31% discount. I told him I was not interested and hung up. There was a long delay in the call connection and the "give away" was the use of my first name as my surname. He had no idea about my existing plan and was just guessing. Probable scam ... I did not wait to find out how they were intending to profit from me.

Unknown caller who didn't leave a message. Background noise in 4 sec recording sounded like a call centre.

Heavy Indian accent, the person took a few moments to respond when I answered the phone, after I said hello a few times, they then responded which tells me they are not calling from australia but are bouncing of a local number.

Person claiming to be from Energy Save working in partnership with energy companies to ensure on best rates and they would simply tell me best option.

When I challenged them to say, so you know my details and have them in front of you. He then quoted an old post code from more than two years ago. Following which I ended the call and blocked the number

Listed my old address and greeted me by my last name. Said they were calling to let me know about my electricity rate increase and trying to confirm I still lived there.

When I asked what company they were calling from they explained that he was calling from the company that provides electricity to the area. No company name.
When I asked where they got my information from, he said a database that stores the customer information (this is a lie because I've never paid an electric bill in my life or been listed on one.)

Scam call. Heavy Indian accent. Was using my maiden name not married name and had a completely wrong address for me, somewhere I’ve never lived. Wanted my new address and to upgrade me to an energy discount plan. Asked where he was calling from and he spoke so fast I couldn’t understand. Sounded like gibberish. When I questioned him about where he was from and said it sounded like a scam he laughed and said clearly I’m refusing his help so he’ll hang up now. Called the number back and it was a voicemail box - left an explicit message on what they should go and do with themselves.

Seems to be an Indian call centre running different versions of the “comparison service “ scam to phish for personal information

What is more troubling is that they know your name and address. Also got very rude when I questioned him as he was phishing for information

This number has called me 3 times in the last week but never leaving a message. Always leaves a voice mail message of about 8 secs without talking but background noise indicates a call centre.
