Caller: Spammer? I answered call from this mobile number. They didn’t respond immediately. I could hear what sounded like a call ctr in the background. After my 2nd “hello” an Indian accented lady asked if I was “Xxx” - quoting my given name. I didn’t confirm, but asked who was calling - to which she gave a name I couldn’t catch, and said she was calling from the “ANS, Australian Bureau of Statistics “. I asked what the call was about $ she promptly hung up! Scammers?!

Caller: Female caller When answered, a woman's voice with a foreign accent came on straight away (with the sound of baby crying in the background), claiming to be from my bureau of statistics, wanting to carry out a survey. I told them I wasn't interested and hung up. the number showed as coming from Australia, but no further information was displayed. Sounded very much like a probable identity scam to me.
