Caller: “Customer Service Australia”

Some guy claiming to be from “Customer Service Australia” and waffling on about something to do with superannuation and things in the news recently. If he was legit, he should have understood how he must sound when making unsolicited calls. I had no clue what he was on about, so I said I’m busy and hung up.

Had a scam call from Shelly, an australian accent very nice and polite, from "Customer Service Australia" she said something like "you may have heard things in the media about superannuation, it's a very hot topic at the moment", which it is not, then was asking basic question about super, eg. if I had over $200K and who I was with, what my first and last name, what state was I in and my email. She said someone will be in contact from another company in the next 48 hours to discuss my super and to check if I'm getting the right deal. I look forward to this next stage of the scam to hand over all my money, thank you Shelly and Customer Service Australia:(

Thank you to everyone that comments here, I was called by this number 0489 901 108 I don’t answer strange numbers anymore. No message left either, I highly recommend keeping your voicemail/answeing service silent so you stay anonymous and no one can record your voice.

Got a call from this number & they hung up as soon as I answered.
Blocking now.

Also called multiple times with unsolicited information about super. Asked to be removed from list but nothing happened.blocked number. And new numbers now call. Sometimes if I answer there’s no answer on other end of the line.
Driving me mad!

Wanted to compare internet plans and had to put in a phone number. They called me within like 10 minutes even though I didnt want it :(

Caller: it is a compare the market NBN or internet company

they ask for your phone number on this Compare NBN plans then they call you right away and try get you connected to a internet plan, there shady site doesn't mention anything about them calling you. just reply "STOP" 0408 738 668 and they take you off the list.

Put my information into CompareBroadband when looking for internet providers, this number called 10-15 mins after. Never answered as Hiya marked it as spam. Have been called multiple times a day for the past 5 days since, I've now blocked the number.

I am assuming this is a scam. I answered the call, not providing my name. After a few seconds of silence they hung up. Immediately after I received a txt message saying "Hi Maria, missed our call? We can connect you to the right broadband and energy plan in under 10 minutes...". They included another phone number to call and an opt-out option. I just blocked them since they are clearly aiming for interactions with the person they are targeting. For the record, my name isn't Maria, so they don't have the details of the person they call.

I've had two missed calls from this number and I think it's probably because I signed up to compare different internet providers last week and my number has likely been shared with various other companies to promote other things to sign up for. I just don't answer unknown callers and see if they leave a voicemail to indicate who they are. No voicemails left.

I have had 6 missed calls from this number today, when I attempt to call it back I get a message day this number has been disconnected, I have blocked the number only phone yet they continue to call

British accent on the line, claiming to be "Customer Service Australia" babbled on about super being on the news and they're checking if I was affected. Asked if my super was over 90k. i said no, he said ok, i will check with you on a later date then hung up

Same spam call as everyone else. Something about it being Customer Service Australia and that in itself sounded weird. I said I'd never heard of that company. Then got some rambling about superannuation and if I give my details they'll find out whether I'm being cheated and that they could look after. Said about super being all over the news. All of sounded ridiculous and even though I didn't get a warning from my phone saying 'suspected

Keeps phoning, no one there, so Ive placed them on block.

Called and was silent on the other end. Probably voice recording scam.
