Had a call saying they were from Visa and Mastercard fraud and there were 2 transactions pending. Did I want to cancel and went to transfer to someone else. I hung up and a fella called back from a landline. As soon as I mentioned calling my bank he hung up. Be aware that banks have their own fraud departments. Landline number was (02) 8529 5286

said they from fraud prevention, but the name they said I was was wrong. asked for my name i told them they should know who they calling and abruptly hung up. by the background sounded like a Indian scam call centre & not a bank as a guy in background was swearing. of course I could be wrong. I guess time will tell.

picked up and there was no one on the other end, this was only 15mins after another reported scam number from a landline, (02) 8528 5450

****BEWARE*** Person with an accent claiming they were from Visa/Mastercard merchant department. They were calling about fraudulent transactions on my account. I asked them what Bank they were calling from. She did not answer. I told her she was a scammer and I am reporting her. She hung up. NEVER provide personal bank details over the phone or Internet. The Bank would never call without introducing themselves and providing an SMS verification code. Do not get scammed. Hang up and ring your Bank directly.
