Computer generated voice claiming to be from PayPal and wanting me to call another number or a large 'unauthorised transaction' would be debited from my account. Suspicious on all levels - have blocked the number.

Caller: Female with strong Indian accent. Female with strong Indian accent, difficult to understand, saying she was from Visa/Mastercard Security. Asked if I had made an Amazon purchase for $860, or a purchase from the US for $1000plus. I said, “No”. She advised my card had been compromised and it would be cancelled and replaced in 2-3 days but she needed the expiry date. I advised her screen would show all that info and I wasn’t supplying any info then hung up. The scammers are getting better (not good, though) but not good enough for this black duck. All the best, people. Good luck with this mob.

Received a call from this number today. Indian man with poor English, told me he was from comm bank and was verifying multiple transactions on my account. Offered to help me block the transactions, I just had to put him on speaker phone and access my banking app. I told him I was uncomfortable with this call and hung up. Tried to ring me multiple times after this with various numbers. I didn't answer.

Caller: Claimed to be Visa Customer Centre Claimed to be Visa Customer Service, quoting my name and address ( not computer generated) person with foreign accent, but spoke in English, claimed to be calling about large unauthorised transactions, (sounded like a call centre given background noise), passed to their Manager who transferred me to a claimed secure line where they wanted card information. Did not provide, but terminated call and called Card Holder organisation to report details of call. Number blocked.

Goddard scam chinese caller. Telstra are seriously going to run out of numbers to issue considering the bulk numbers they're selling to scammers. Block one, the next number in line turns up doing the same thing. An individual has to jump through hoops to verify and prove who they are when applying for a mobile account. Not so with these companies who buy numbers in bulk. Total joke!

Chinese scam, targeted at Chinese living abroad. The tone and intonation of the speaker is attempting to bully the receiver into an action by inferring social superiority (voice tone, dialect and social class). Variants include claiming to be Chinese police or the Chinese Embassy. SCAM.
