Caller: Said he was from the Cancer Council

Thanked me for signing a petition for more government funds to be allocated to cancer research. I do not remember ever signing a petition. Told me his sister had died from cancer after I mentioned I had lost my husband to cancer. I was out to lunch at the time when he asked me to go to my mobile banking to make an ongoing monthly donation. I said I could not do it over the phone so he called back 2 hours later but I was still out. I now realize this was a scam. Man with an Australian accent and a very good script he was working from.

Doesn't get the hint even after number has been blocked for ages.

This is costly, I'm overseas and on 'roaming' every call I answer I pay for it.

Hangs up when answered.

Moments before tuat i received a "private number call" i did nit answer and no mwssage left, i decided to see if this number left a message, it didn't. Clearly a nuisance called.

They called and hung up before I could answer, did not bother to leave a message. A serious pain because I have a foot injury making the dash to the phone painful. Suspiciously I received a scammer call 2 minutes before this company called. I'm also on the do-not-call register. Strange that the number appears as a mobile number (the scammers method of choice). I loathe being charity mugged in shopping centres and especially hate being cold called after signing petitions, if I didn't want to donate online when given the opportunity, i most certainly do not want to donate over the phone.

Charities, religious organisations, educational institutions are exempted from the do not call register, however, if you ask them, they will remove your number from their call list.

Kept ringing me, dont know who they are but sick of it..... BLOCKED!

They ring everyday and every day I answer and they just hung up! So annoying. Block the number.

Lady said they were from Fred hollows wanting to thank me for my donations.she nknew my name and address.i was asked if I would like to beqeath to fred hollows my money.i told them.i didn't know if they were scamming or not.they apologised after I told them I was listed on the do not call list with the government.

Called twice in a row one day but left no message. I don’t answer / reply back on number not on my contact if no message left.

I did not recognise number so did not answer and they didn't leave a message, so assumed it’s not important. I checked here and found great information, thank you everybody and now I know who called me, and will now block

Caller: Group on behalf of charities apparently.

You put yourself on the "do not call" register, but they keep calling. Getting sick of adding these numbers to my "block caller" list.

I got a call from this number and the woman said that she is calling from Peter McCallum Cancer Centre and I have asked for cancer information. I said I didn’t ask and may be they got a wrong number. She insisted that it is the correct number and wanted my address to send the information. I didn’t want to give my address.

I rang back as no message was left and they have rang a few times now. As others have stated “Klever Kontacts” was who was calling. They didn’t answer and the voice recording said they call on behalf of charities. The recording said they would continue to call.
