"They"rang twice and hung up. I'm glad I checked the number here before I rang it back. I am on the Do Not Call register, so am really, really frustrated that these calls still keep getting through.

The online scams are so rampant that it's a shame if there were any legitimate ones running. I've been caught offguard many times. Now when a strange number appears on my phone I check on google. Thank God there are people that give feedback. The other mistake is trying to join 'mystery shoppers' as a job - that will get you endless phone calls, it doesn't matter how many you block - they're like cockroaches.

Caller: Cruise Megastore

I answered as I have items in Gumtree so thought it could’ve been a buyer.
Caller said I entered a competition to win a cruise - something I would never do as I’m not interested in cruises. She tried the hard sell - two for one cruise, all after I told her “I’m not interested”, guess I should’ve just hung up!

they use fake numbers so DNC can not block, but mark as spam on your mobile or add to reject list

I use same strategy. My blocked number contact on my mobile now has over 200 entries!

When answered there is no one there, unable to call back from landline. Entered gift card comp a couple of years ago, did not get many calls back then, but since I put in complaint to Do Not Call register regarding one survey group, I am now being hounded. I have made over a dozen complaints to do not call, but don't think they can get these b*^^%$.

For phones
