Caller: Robo-Calling

Automated Robo calling, designed to check if your number is answered or not. If you answer, the Robot will record your number as being "active" and therefore more valuable to be sold as a known "Number in Use"

The more calls you answer, the more calls you will get. My advice is don't answer any calls you are unfamiliar with. If they are calling your mobile, they can send an SMS if they really want to contact you.

Hung up when answered

Have had 4 calls since 19/Jun/2024 leaving no voice message. Calls are usually between 13:00 to 15:00. Can only assume spam/scam/time wasting calls.

Did not answer the call and caller did not leave a message

SCAM wanted access to computer !

Rings consistently over the last week scam scam

Regularly ring around 6pm. When I answered saying that I was the Australian Federal Police, asking them to hold the line while we tracked the call, they reacted rather rapidly

Received a missed call earlier this afternoon from this number - based on numerous other responses here on this site, this is presumably a scam/spam caller - number now blocked.

Caller: Scummers

I don’t even bother answering as I already know the scums game plan. The scummers are sophisticated that they trap the people in the call centres calling you and some have the call centre ops in 1 country and the money snared in another country… read up about it. Countries like Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Philippines, UAE, Ghana, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Germany, Serbia, Spain, Portugal & even your own country. They use VoIP that can pretend to be any phone number. Telephone carriers may block thousands of scam calls nowadays but occasionally some still get through. You should already know who is going to call you regarding your own affairs and who is just riff raff scummers.

Calls incessantly, and just hangs up if answered.

Had called over the past 3 week 8 times. I finally answered and it just hung up. Suspect Robocall just checking connections. Blocked

Didn't leave a message

3 calls from these guys since Monday (today is Thursday), all calls between 2pm and 3pm. I don't answer unknown numbers and they never leave a message.

I have my phone set to send all calls, except those in my Contacts list, to voicemail. Works like a dream. I get a text message from my carrier but always "No message was left".

Calls same time every afternoon.

Answered call today all they said was my name then the prick hung up

Some scammers have brains, this one has what normally comes out from the rear end. I get a call every day, midday, for a month now, I blocked the number many weeks ago, but he probably is from another planet. No messages of course. Many months ago, he used a different number starting also 0488.

Even after blocking the number I still get a missed call message
