Claimed I could potentially maybe win a laptop prize for a survey I apparently filled in although I never fill any in as I don't want unsolicited calls. Dodgy Spam has called me the same day every week now This number has called a number of times, answered for the first time today. Australian male voice at the other end new my name. Said that he was calling from some Australian survey company and that I had recently answered a survey to win a laptop or iPhone which I said I had not. This particular survey today was for home loans which I said I did not have. He then politely thanked me and we hung up. Didn’t leave a voicemail just hung up when I didn’t answer Caller: A company
Australian lady said that I had entered a competition through, Woolworths, BWS, Facebook or a couple others. Said I could win a coupleof prizes. Asked if I owned a home and how much I paid off etc. I didn't get any further.
Caller: Not sure, but definitely SPAM!
Why can't government get rid of these voultures using some from to rib money from unsuspection people?
I've been called by this number 8 x already this month. Have them on my blocked list and they keep calling. Relentless calls from this number. I have blocked it, but they keep trying I answered phone an Australia voice Asked for me by name. I asked who was calling said he was Sam Claimed I could potentially maybe win a laptop prize for a survey I apparently filled in although I never fill any survey online.. SCAM Caller: 0488 828 500
I missed the call so I called straight back. An Australian woman answered immediately and knew my name. Told me she was from a company called VELOUR & I'd won a prize in a competition I'd entered through Coles/Bunnings/Woolworths and some others.
Thought it was odd since they don't all have the same parent company so why would they run a competition together??
Told her I didn't remember entering any competition and she replied, "it may have been some time ago" and as if she'd looked it up said "oh, yes it was January 10th". Curious, I continued with her.
She told me that she had a few questions to see if I qualified and I'd win a laptop.
She asked if I was between 30 & 55, then asked if I still had more than $150 000 in equity with my house. Now bored and sure it was a scam, I said no and amazingly I no longer qualified and the call was ended.
What I found interesting was that there was back ground noise as though coming from a call centre and I have been receiving emails lately stating similar, some saying "we tried to call you"
Hope this helps others avoid failing for this scam
Claimed I'd won a laptop, details were over 7 years old - SCAM! A man called me today saying all the same things above, iphone /laptop if i qualify, he got short with me when i asked him questions about his company and the information he had about me, then he hung up on me. I blocked my number and called the number he called from and it said the number is not in service ? SCAMMER BEWARE !! I added to auto reject list and they called me five times in different dates Same Laptop scam. Same vague story about having filled in a survey for Coles or Woollies etc. Said they represent a company called Belouis investment group. Caller: Scammer
Called saying I had entered a competition in April and I had won. I said I don’t enter competitions and she said that it’s hard to sometimes remember due to our busy lives. I said that I don’t believe this as I don’t enter competitons and believe this was a scam call. I hung up and blocked call.
Caller: A company called Belouis
Australian man called from a mobile number several times. says I had won a laptop if I answer the following criteria but I get a "finance pack" as part of the deal. Says I entered a competition with all my details including a signature from Coles/internet/Aldi/Woolworths/Harvey Norman or Bunning or somewhere - which is something I would never do. Said I entered the competition on 31 mar 2018 - 18 months ago???? Said I had won a computer - if I meet the criteria, but couldnt tell me the brand of computer I had won, except it was green and white with 1 GB ram (wow). It will cost me nothing - if I meet the criteria - but I must sit down for 40 minutes for someone to explain a finace pack to me on how I could save money on my mortgage. Lots of "free" No obligations, cost you nothing, comments. Too good to be true? Heck yeh.
Caller: Claimed to be from 'Velour'
Australian lady claiming to be from a company called 'Velour', said I have possibly won a laptop by entering some competition via Coles/internet/Aldi/Woolworths that sort of thing. Knew my name and age and that I have a home loan. Started asking me about my home loan so I asked her for clarification on exactly how I entered this competition, she said I had bought a 'device' on a specific date and she could give me the IP address so I could 'check it back'. I said I didn't remember buying a device and hung up on me. This number had been calling me for a couple of weeks, this is the 3rd time I've answered, the other two I got dead air and hung up on. Dodgy AF.
Hung up when I answered!!! Older man on phone asking to speak to my partner but dialling my phone. Dodgy Caller: Spam
DODGY!!!!!! Do not answer!!! SPAM!
A Australian man called me saying I won an iPhone from a competition I entered and then continued to ask me questions about whether I own my house and how much I’ve paid off on mortgage.
