I received a suspicious call from this number today from an accented lady claiming to be from Aurora Energy. (maybe she is or maybe she isn't). The caller asked my full name followed by a request for date of birth and drivers licence number, both of which I declined to provide for identity theft reasons. The call was then terminated without any reason for calling given.
If this was indeed Aurora energy, they are calling from an unidentifiable mobile number to a customer, on their account registered phone number with confirmation of full name, which should be enough identification if the call is genuine.
It may be a different matter when Aurora is receiving an inbound call from a customer wishing to discuss account related information where it would be (slightly) more acceptable to confirm identity.
