Caller: Smoke Alarms Australian ( supposedly)

I have had numerous texts from this number, to which I reply yes, I am available for their specified date and time, but I receive no confirmation. This occurs every few days. The last text says
Quote: “ Good Morning, Happy Friday! Due to continues booking we are fully booked on today. May I ask your general availability?”
For an Australian company, this message is just plain weird, especially as I had just informed them the day before that I was available for Monday.
So it will be interesting to see if they turn up tomorrow, but I won’t hold my breath.

I have also got call from this number multiple times and I denied access as I never had any intimation from my real estate company. Then I got it confirmed by my real estate agent that they are legit. But the suspicion was more as they were using mobile numbers to call people for booking appointment. I told it straight to them as well and asked why they are not calling from a business number. Then I contacted Smoke Alarms Australia on their business number 1300 125 276 and they could validate the call with its time and appointment booked time.

It seems legitimate!

One of the posts here says they should identify themselves as coming from some smoke company, this is not what happened. They claimed to be from a real estate that I am not with for my rental. I believe this may be a SCAM.

Called at 6:40pm on a Monday, also suspicious. Caller had a thick Indian accent and did not identify themselves at all. BERY SUS.

Genuine. Your real estate or property manager has booked you in for a firm inspection, if your properly manager didn't notify you that is the fault of the property manager.

How about the fact they have on numerous occasions rang me stating my real estate agent (lets just say XYZ) has requested on their behalf- XYZ has NEVER been my real estate agent, even before changing hands to the new ones since the sale of the property.

I have stated the hours I am available for a technician to come out- yet over and over again, they send me options outside of these hours?

I speak to one person- less than 5 minutes later, I get another call stating to be from Smoke Alarms Australia from a different operator.

Unless I have an express email from my ACTUAL real estate agent- I will not be allowing your company to visit my property, which is well within my rights!

Yes, sounds like a spam company lol but it is a real company that real estate agents book to get to check your first alarms.
