annoying -trying to sell insurance

These guys are relentless. Free advice - NEVER give your contact details to a website that wants to "contact you to discuss..." It's nothing more than a grab for your details, and they're so dodgy. Undoubtedly sell your information as well. UGH!

Seriously, in this day and age - why can't insurance companies give sufficient information on their website to allow potential customers make a decision? I filled out an online questionnaire while trying to help a family member ascertain which insurance provider was the best option for them, and they haven't stopped being inundated with nuisance calls since. If an insurance company can't be bothered giving information on their products online, I wouldn't recommend buying their products. They don't need to gather contact data (which they obviously sell or pass on to other telemarketers), just give people information and let them take responsibility for their decisions. It's all legally required to be covered in the PDS anyway - quit bothering people trying to upsell them to bolster your commission.

Hi, This was an interesting comment, is it possible to find out if your number was actually sold by a particular telemarketing company. The reason I ask is, I have never had these type of calls before, but recently I work with a guy who is a telemarketer at night and as he does have my mobile, and now it does seem strange that I am inundated with these calls, so I am wondering if he has sold my number? I have asked him and he said no, but really I am not sure he is telling the truth, it is possible to find out? Thanks in advance if anyone can help with my question?

They always ask to speak to Milly, my name is not Milly and i have told them many times to take my number off their call list. But 2 days later they ring again asking for Milly!!!! Blocked now

they call several times a day

My second call from the same company, but a similar number within an hour, trying to sell me funeral insurance, first time they rang I blocked them, this time I answered & told them I wasn't interested.
Hopefully they get the message.
I also registered my number on the do not call registry, so hopefully the frequency of these calls is non existent.

more spam calling from various numbers. answerer beware. my friendly advice is to block this nunber straight away. this is what you may get for doing online competitions.

same as above insurance they using many nos that are similar entered a completion on internet where they get the nos from
