Northern man threatens police with hedge trimmer 04 Oct, 2011 08:45 AM TWO police officers were threatened with a hedge trimmer after responding to a distress call at a Northern home on Wednesday. Lindsay Royal Kemp, 48, pleaded guilty in the Launceston Magistrates Court yesterday to assaulting a police officer and two counts of common assault for the incident, which stemmed from a domestic dispute. Kemp was already wielding the four-metre long weapon, described in police facts as a whipper-snipper with a chainsaw attachment, when police arrived. The blades had been turned on. When the officers approached him he made "threatening motions" at them and said: "F---ing shoot me you pigs, you have already shot me two times before, you won't f---ing do it." Defence counsel Adrian Hall explained Kemp had been shot twice by police officers in a police siege in Hobart in 1997. The officers drew their firearms and capsicum spray before the man threw the motorised blade over the edge of the balcony he was standing on. Police then used capsicum spray to subdue and arrest him. He was remanded in custody and will be sentenced by magistrate Robert Pearce today.
EXCERPT FROM THE EXAMINER NEWSPAPER Launceston
Kemp pleaded guilty and received 6mts probation and 6mts prison sentence suspended for 2 years. Sus sentence expires in December 2013.

Kemp has no contact with his five(5)now, adult children. The question has to be asked...just what did he do to them?
