This number rang my wife upon calling back it said disconnected. Not long after it rang myself, upon calling back it said disconnected.

It is a scammer claiming that they are from RACQ. Report it to scam watch, RACQ are aware of this. The scammers can be abusive if you don't fall for their scam.
