Someone texted my mum with my full name and said to delete my old number and that their phone was broken. They then said they needed help with something and they were having a really bad day. My mum tried to ring them but the phone call wouldn't go through. She then rang me and we figured out someone was trying to scam her! Scary!

Someone messaged me on Whattsapp. Called me mum and said to delete their number and use the new one as they had lost their phone. Being a suspicious person I asked what child this was and gave two random names (not my kids names). They said they were the first name I used and laughed. I still wasn't sure at that point. So I asked if they were picking me up on. Saturday as arranged and they said yes. I do not have an arrangement to get picked up on Saturday. This must be some sort of scam. I told them none to politely to get lost.
