they don't get the hint to stop calling you even when they are told not call again

told them to stop calling me

Not sure who caller was but when I picked up it was just two young guys laughing in the phone. Scam/prank call.

It is a scam call.

Kind of tiring having to block virtually every unknown number.
I answered only to hear a voice saying Thank you for ringing Aussie Protect..

called today hung up before i could answer

Caller said they were calling all households in my area and conducting an 'economic survey' they hung up when i asked if they were from Palmer United party. Scammers.

They said the same thing to me, then asked what state I'm in. I replied saying "you just said you're calling households in my area, so you should know what state I'm in", then I hung up and blocked the number
