Caller: I do not know

For quite some time now, I have received calls on my home & mobile phones. I've given up answering them because the line disconnects immediately. If I don't answer, upon redialling to validate the numbers, I'm met with 'Optus/Telstra advises that this number is not connected'.
Years ago a technician purporting to be from Microsoft attempted to gain access to my computer; when I called his bluff (challenged his position/knowledge - "As a Telstra technician, you should know that..") he made some lame excuse to end the scam, citing a Victoria-based contact number (starting with 03 - MS Australia is 132 058, I believe). DFT told me it was a number 'They probably got off the internet'.

Call came through as an unknown number which I don’t normally answer - was someone from a health insurance comparison place and when I said I wasn’t interested was met with “so you don’t want to save money on your private health insurance” which I didn’t bother to answer and just hung up.

They hung up as soon as I answered.

Caller: Auzie Protect Company??

When I range this number back the answer message is they are an Auzie Protect Company?? So I blocked this number

Calling a number on a do not call register. Obviously not working

didn't answer, called back greeted by machine indicating they are an Aussie Finance Institution, bla bla...
