Just posting this here to warn others. This person poses as wanting a relationship on a dating site, pretends to be interested in you, will call/chat/seem supportive via phone and text (WhatsApp in particular), but after a few days will say they need to go overseas for work (even though the site's distance lists them in the country and their name/phone number are not searchable online as being linked to any business), and around one week later will say that they are unable to come back to Australia due to having issues with importing goods, upon which they ask for money (in my case it was almost $600).

Same here. Two weeks of nice personal chats, then just before a personal meeting they had to go overseas for a business trip. A week later they contacted from 001 845 288 7629 that they need $790 to release goods…
