has called on 1/3 & 4/3/19... didn't leave a message, called it back, 'number not connected'. have blocked number.

This number and all the other 0485's call me everyday for the last 8 months or more. I have explained my situation a number of times, now I just ignore it. I would like to switch my mobile off but I am trying to find a job.

Rang my mobile 3 times in 10 minutes.
I answered, and each time it hung up after 5-6 seconds of silence.
Tried to call it back from a work land line that has a blocked number, and got a recorded message saying the phone number is incomplete or incorrect. Definitely a scam.

Called back but the numbers were disconnected. How can they call if it is disconnected.

Can someone please tell me why they call, just to hang up? What's the deal or mentality in dealing with this?

Caller: Solar Victoria

Trying to sell government rebate solar panels. First said he was from Solar Victoria, when I told him nothing comes up and google he then said he was ringing on behalf of Clean Energy Council. When I asked why the phone number didn't show anything when I googled it he said the number gets automatically allocated by the internet. He was asking for my address so a solar panel expert could get in contact with me. When I asked him three times how he got my number because I was on the do not call list he hung up.

Phoned twice - once on 13/3 and then on 14/3 - hung up both times as soon as I answered. I have blocked the call. What is wrong with these wankers!

Called me on 29/JUL/2025. I don't answer unknown numbers so call got diverted to voicemail. They didn't leave a voicemail - which makes me suspicious.
Attempted to call the number back...but "unable to connect" - suspicions confirmed.

Blocked the number pro-actively.

Has all the hallmarks of an attempt to get some personal info from you, which maybe then gets collated with other info obtained from other places eg. Council records, various government services, titles office, social media etc. All then used or sold to others for eg identity theft, bank account details or whatever. Just block it completely.

Mobile numbers starting with 0485 are scammers

They called and never said anything and hung up after a few seconds so I blocked them.

Said they were from iselect trying to sell insurance

This number called me over and over - when you answer there is no-one there. I have blocked the number. This is a scam probably to get you to call back.

Missed a call from this number. Did not leave a voicemail. Called this number back & it said it’s disconnected 13/3/19
