Foreign call centre woman purportedly from “Vodaphone billing department”. Told her I had no contract with them and hung up. Presumably personal data collecting.

Caller: NBN Co. the caller claimed to be working for.

The lady caller said she was working for NBN Co. and told me that I had an NBN connection issue and wanted to help me. Her accent was from the subcontinent. I asked for her name and employee number so I could contact NBN Co. for verification and will call her back on the number 0483 949 602 displayed on my phone. She hung up on me abruptly. I reckon this is a scam. The call received was on 23 Sept 2023.

Caller: 2 different calls - delays to answer, one recorded - ‘NBN Tech’, & ‘Visa Fraud Dept’ ??????

2 Calls - using same # ! 1st - usual delay, From ‘nbn’ Tech Dept - not from my Internet provider? Treated it as scam, and ended call. 2nd - Recorded message, said from ‘Visa Fraud Dept’ about a suspect charge $1,099 - treat that as scam also! Had same call a few weeks earlier ! Annoying !

Caller: Caller claimed to be from NBN

Said he was from NBN testing the speed of our internet because there was a problem. He asked me to type in a site on my computer, luckily, I didn't. I asked him, for my security purposes, information about my internet and he couldn't provide it. He was most insistent he was from NBN and the upgrade they were providing was at no cost to me and he was not requesting any personal information. This was at the time we had just upgraded our internet to fibre to the house.
I contacted Telstra and was advised that this was definitely a scam.
