Automated message claiming to be from PayPal. Advising $ xxx would be deducted from the account. Didn't listen to the whole message.

Advice from PayPal:

"Never return an automated call

If an automated call provides a number and asks you to call back, don't. Only contact PayPal through the Contact page in our Help Center or call PayPal Customer Service."

So Lucy from NBN called just now, too.
Instead of swearing - I simply said: 'Hi Lucy, how are your parents?'
Lucy forgot how her parents here. She stumbled and said:
'Oooohh....Ahhhh??? then hung up'.
Naughty Lucy.
What will your parents think that you are prostituting yourself over the phone, scamming people.
Naughty naughty Lucy.
From now on, I will be enquiring about parents, extended family, grand parents, children etc.
It is only once I get to know your WHOLE virtual extended family - and IF you don't make any errors - that you will have opportunity for a normal conversation.
Now, there's a story for your parents!

Caller: Someone speaking Mandarin - recording

33 second long voicemail left. Pretty standard scam in Mandarin language. Voice is a recording., not live. Assuming they’re threatening people from their country and hoping to scam them:

A caller said her name is Lucy, from NBN about my internet. Another scammer.

The caller asked me to confirm if I sent an international transfer of $400 from one of the Australian banks, as I don't have an account with that bank he named, I asked "WHO ARE YOU?", he hanged up the call, please do NOT take a call, just block .
