Caller: Commonwealth

Pretended to be a bank and wanted to check if I made some fishy payment of 800 USD to the US. Asked her to send me a message through the official Commonwealth website. Guess what - she hung up.

Caller: Amazon

Rang said my Amazon account was about to expire, told him to get effed and the scammer laughed and hung up

Didn't leave a message.
Suspected scammer - all these dodgy phone calls tend to come around either midday, 2pm or 4pm.

Caller: Fake Commonwealth Bank

A man called saying that he was the Commonwealth Bank and I had a transfer from overseas I had to "confirm". I asked what was my name and he hesitated. Said "This is clearly a scam" and hung up.

Call supposedly from PayPal saying I'd been charged $1000+ for something. Instructed me to press buttons. I didn't say or do anything. They hung up. I searched the number here, then blocked the number on my phone.

A well spoken Indian male said the was from NBN and that they had observed fluctuations in my internet speed over the past few days. He then offer to upgrade our package at no cost, and said I would need to access my screen for him to do that. Given that our street recently had a fibre to the premise upgrade, I let him go that far before I said that we didn't need an upgrade, thank you, and goodbye. Number now blocked.

The strange thing is that Telstra is pretending to protect us against scam calls, just like this one known to the world for months, except Telstra. Is there a case that Telstra is deliberately ignoring the existence of this number and opted not to block the number. Money perhaps?

Automated call to advise they needed authorisation on a visa purchase for $1000 gift card.

Caller: John from Amazon

Claiming I made a payment of 800 for a iPhone 7 why would I want a 7 when I have the new 14 I did even use Amazon

Left a voicemail. Asian language, assuming it was Chinese based on accent.

Robot scam call from "your visa or mastercard department."

Caller: said they were Telstra

Man claimed to have a report my internet connection was insecure and could be compromised. He couldn't provide any of my personal account information so I hung up. Sounded like a scam and searching this site seems to confirm that

Rang and said he was from Commonwealth Bank and had security for all banks! Hung up on the sod.

Claimed to be from the visa and MasterCard security team. Last I knew they were 2 different companies

Scam call.
Machine voice telling me a purchase has been made through eBay for $200+ (can’t recall the amount). If it isn’t authorised, press 1 etc.
I waited silently and it hung up.
Blocked the number on my phone.

Caller: My phone automatically blocked the call as spam or scam. So either they have been reported by many people, or I have blocked the number previously.

Don't answer. Just block the number.
