Caller: Scam SCAM, SCAM, SCAM !! A truly sick and potentially dangerous txt scam. They send txt msgs saying “hello mum & dad, here’s my new phone number” & they ask you to save the number. They pretend to be “your children” so that you will pass on personal information. I received multiple txts from this number. One said they were so stressed in getting a new ph to work, they’d forgotten passwords etc . They are always unsigned. I knew it was dodgy from the start as their wording & language was not in a manner that my own children would use. Nevertheless , I used a separate contact method to verify & of course it was a cruel , sick scam that seems to be doing the rounds at the moment. Utterly disgraceful . Be aware -if you get like this, delete & report as they have the potential to do irreparable harm.
