Someone has been texting my mother all afternoon pretending to be my sister, with a story about her phone falling down the toilet, and needing money to purchase a new one. Good English. They asked for $1800. Once confronted, said they were from Nigeria but probably just using as scapegoat for their real origin

It’s a scam number

I had a phone call from this number saying they’d dropped phone into the toilet - they had bills to pay, however the damaged phone could not receive SMS notifications…I believed this phone message from my daughter living overseas…. I was scammed out of $3800…
The phone messages were all so real…perfect English, and spelling Please ensure you do not fall for this…Police have been advised along with all these other scam avenues….Money is unfortunately long gone….

They pretended to be my mum and message to my grandmother asking for $2000 saying she had dropped her phone in the toilet and that she was stuck in another country with no money as well as making a Facebook page using my mother‘s name to message her.
