Pretend to be an electricity comparison site, but when I explained that I only rent a room and can’t choose my provider, they hung up. They have called me back around 30 times now from different numbers.

Caller: Energy Savers They called and didn’t leave a message. I don’t answer calls from numbers I don’t recognise. Called the number from a public phone box, voicemail said ‘Energy Savers’. So, breaching the Victorian Government ban on cold calling for energy rebates AND the Do Not Call register. Reported and blocked.

They say they are a company helping to find better rates. Reason I don’t believe them is that they are not forthcoming with their own information, and every time I block a number, they just call back from the next number in their box of virtual SIM cards.
