Caller: Health insurance comparison

Calls repeatedly and never leaves a message. Called back and an IVR states you've reached a health insurance comparison and to please hold to speak to someone.

Caller: "Health Scout"

I phoned this number, and an Australian accented man called Daniel answered as 'health scout'. When I asked where he got my number, he asked if I knew why they'd called me. I said no, but I want my number taken off their list. He replied 'then how do you know that you don't need what were calling about, if you've already said you don't know why were calling'. I told him then to take me off their effing call list (I'm sick in bed & the this number has been calling repeatedly). I'm selective about who I've given my number to, so I'm figuring they've attained my number from one of the 'purchased lists so many of us have ended up on due to the numerous data spills /hacks that companies like Medibank & Optus have allowed to happen. Daniel started laughing... saying sure, he'd take my name off their list, & proceeded to tell me to have a nice day ... I then questioned him 'what, the number I have masked when I make calls'. He laughed again. So I called him a good Aussie name - you know the one where you promise to see them on the day between Monday and Wednesday. He laughed again and hung up..
So in researching whether or not this is a legitimate business, I've found two companies - Healthscout.net.au ('A leading health insurance consultant') Healthscout.insure.
The first one has an advertised 1300 number, and when you click on the number to call it, it changes the number to another landline number. Not sure why. They state they're part of a health insurance comparison brand called 'Choosewell'. Googling their ABN states that their address for serving of documents is in Pitt St in Sydney, their headquarters for the business is in St Kilda Rd in Melbourne & their website says their address is in Brisbane. Their website doesn't have an 'About Us' or anything else on their website. Make of that what you will. I believe this is the group calling from the above number... there doesn't seem to be a place where you can record a review etc. Despite having an ABN, this company seen as dodgy as the day is long.
The second website just gives me an access /permissions error page.
Long story short... don't answer this number. Maybe call their 'business' directly from the website, housing your number, & maybe enquire as to where they got your number from... see what reaction you get. You might get lucky and speak to rudely obnoxious 'Daniel', the guy you'd never want working for your legitimate business. If you do, send him my love.

Second try at my number. The first time I answered and had a similar guy trying to elicit personal information using the survey excuse.
After about 2 mins he admitted to me he was trying to con me into buying health insurance which no doubt would be overpriced and with limited cover with plenty of exclusions. He wouldn't answer when I asked if he had bought the product he was selling and eventually after I politely questioned him further he hung up.
Obviously fairly inexperienced and unsure what to do when caught off script. It was a few months ago so maybe it was Daniel before he toughened up.
I'm surprised they called again but I guess being in my late seventies I fit the easy con profile. Never do business or interact with any cold caller.

No call, but the message said "You missed a call, but the caller didn't leave a message".
I don't know who called but after reading various comments, one may assume that was a scam. What else?
