They called to ask how my home loan is going and if there is anything they can assist with.

Lendi are an online mortgage comparatiave company.

I recently looked on their comparative website to see how my mortgage rate compared to the others.

They phoned me back and said they worked with all major banks including ANZ which is where my mortgage is.

I was paying 3.4% and after a 10 minute discussion they said they could get my rate down to 2.8% which they did at no cost to me.

According to them the banks are paying them a fee to retain clients. Strange way of doing business but I'm happy with a lower rate.

Called my number and rang off - I didn't try to call them back.
