"Hi X, a note from the Social Research Centre on behalf of the Dept of Education to complete the GOS by tonight for a chance to win $1,000. Check you email for an invite to join the largest national study of graduates: https://srcentre.au/3030Y4NR8M1 For more info call 1800 055 818 Reply STOP to optout"

The scammer seems to knows your 1. Name; 2. Mob. No.; 3. That you graduated recently (from an Educational Institution/University). The scammer does not know 1. Your email address; 2. Or other personal details (Addresses, Student ID).

The legitimate URL for SRC (ANU) is "srcentre.com.au" and the Phone No. listed in the text 1800 055 818) is legitimate (as bait). The SMS has poor grammar, a short deadline for response (1-day), and the supposed email mentioned in the text was not received.

DO NOT REPLY, DO NOT CLICK THE URL, DO NOT OPEN YOUR EMAIL WHILE BROWSING THE TEXT (might be a no-click exploit).

REPORT AS SPAM OR PHISHING.

CLEAN YOUR PHONE (with a anti-virus check) AND RESTART FOR GOOD MEASURE.

The GOS-L measures medium-term employment outcomes of graduates from Australian higher education institutions. If you completed the GOS three years ago, you may be invited to take part.

The GOS-L is an opportunity for graduates to provide feedback about how their course prepared them for work and give an update on their current employment situation, approximately three years after completing their studies. By taking part in the survey, your insights will help future graduates as institutions use the findings to enhance their career resources and work-readiness initiatives.
