This number constantly rang me until I answered it and then said they were from Optus and after the breach they were securing customer's accounts. She said that a code would be sent to me and to read it back to her and a text which genuinely looked to be from Optus was received but did not sit right with me so I hung up. She has constantly rung me since and I got in touch with Optus to check and they said they did not ring with a code. They only send a code when the customer RINGS THEM to access an account. This appears to be a scam especially as Optus would not ring persistently 6 or 7 times without leaving a message.

Same as previous message. Said they were from OPTUS and wanted to activate a refund. Sent code to phone. Asked for DOB but when I said I wouldn't give that over the phone they terminated the call. On checking with Google the above phone number and ringing it, it belongs to the Police Association.

Caller: Optus

Said they were from Optus, and because I've been with Optus for a number of years they had a special offer for me... She knew my DOB and name. Then proceeded to give me her name and her Optus "employee number" to confirm it wasn't a scam.. Kept telling me to hold on for 4minutes then hold on for another 3minutes.. I hung up and rang Optus - Of course it wasn't them... The number rang consecutively 5 times after I hung up.
