Yes this is a scammer.

Caller: It was a text, in response to a legit ad on Gumtree.

"Gd day mate, my dad want to buy your XXXXX on gumtree, kindly email him on seths19745 @ gmail.com for further correspondence. Cheers"

Looks suspicious to me. So I haven't emailed him.
