Caller: Uber eats scam

All the messaging saying it’s not a scam are scammers trying to act innocent, I was stupid enough to think it wasn’t a scam and got $120 taken, my card has had to be shut down and same with my uber account. They’ll ask for your phone code and email code. DO NOT give it to them, they’ll use your account and steal card information, they are from Canada but call from here in Australia. BIG SCAM from Wagga Wagga

Caller: Supposedly my uber eats restaurant

I received a call from 0480 019 468 within minutes of placing an uber eats order. The man named the restaurant he was calling from and said he had to confirm my order as there was an issue with their system. I was unsure about this but he listed each item I ordered and confirmed my email address. He got me to read an uber eats text code as well as an email code he seemingly promoted to come through. I said I was unsure as the email code said it was to log in to my account but he reassured me this was just to verify my order in their system. After doing so I felt uncomfortable so I called the restaurant and asked if anyone called me as I thought it might have been a scam. The restaurant told me they don’t think anyone called me. I’ve since changed all my passwords and security settings for my account in case. I think this is a legitimate uber eats number but that it is potentially being used by a scam company at the same time.

After placing an uber order I got a call from this number. They knew exactly what I had ordered but said the was a system issue and needed to send me a code. I questioned it and the Indian man was very rude. He asked for my mobile (but he called me) so I gave it and then got a code he then sent me a code to my email….. yet the email said not to give this code to anyone. When I mentioned this he was very rude again and was very angry. I asked what his name was and he told me (not an Indian name) and then said he was the store manager. I was watching my Uber Eats and could see the order had been picked up and was on its way to being delivered LOL
100% scam!!! The order was received. Do not trust a phone call like this

I also got this today after placing an order on uber eats. Thought it was legit as they had every detail correct then took 60 CAD out of my paypal when I live in Austraila!! Ughh!

Called me while my driver was at the store, first claimed to be the driver, then when my food arrived he claimed to be the store owner. Initially I got a txt from uber for a code, then an email came through with another code, in the email it said "to finish logging into your account" that's when I caught on that it's a scam lol not today captain Pakistan

This Indian guy tried to say he was a manager of a restaurant I ordered from (off of Uber) and said he would like to refund me as the items I ordered were unavailable, so he needed my phone number and email address, I foolishly gave him my number and the code that came to it quickly afterwards, but I didn’t give him my email code as I soon realised my Uber driver was already on his way

Shortly after I had an email saying someone has tried to login to my account, so I changed my account, deleted my card details and put a new password and Face ID

The attempted login said they were from Perth, I’m from Victoria

It’s a scam. They said they had a technical issue and needed a verification code from me. When I asked what info they needed from me they were unable to describe it, just kept aggressively pushing me to give them my details. They eventually hung up on me.
