yes, scammers, have tried to say that my husband approved an add sept last year and that they will be sending out a copy in the post, had a call the same a month ago and I told the woman that I had not received anything via email, no proofs or info, the lady said the magazine was due to be posted "tomorrow" and the add was $500, I told her I wasn't paying for something that had not been approved, she ended up hanging up on me, same thing this time, the woman denied that they had called me a month ago, this time when I asked about an email with a proof she said they had internet issues and weren't able to send the proofs out, this time they were posting a proof and an invoice. originally they called my husband, then the dispatch guy called and wanted my number, I called the lady back by the name of kate, who could not tell me where the magazine was based and what the company name was only that the magazine was called "The fire fighters bush magazine" completely dodgy and this is crap for the legitimate bushfire fundraisers!!

Very simular to above comments. Said they had spoken with me late last year (2017) and the magazine was ready and they were going to publish it in "soft copy" but have changed their mind. Asked for an address - I gave them a PO Box, asked if I had a street address - I said all my business mail went to a POBox. Then they told me they were setting up security codes for everyone and asked for my DOB. I gave them a date ending in 2018 the caller then told me I should be giving them my DOB - again I said I will remember the pass word. I was then told that the system would only take 4 numbers (so why ask for my DOB - I thought). I asked what publishing company they were from - didn't tell me. I mentioned a few companys and was told no it wasn't them. I asked for a copy of the advertising proof I had signed off on. Was told another section does this. I said I was becoming a bit stressed about all of this. Oh they also asked if I would like to pay via credit card today. I told them that unless they could provide me with proof that I had signed off on art work then I wasn't prepared to go ahead. The caller hung up.

Said they spoke to me in October & that I had agree to advertising in the magazine, that the magazine is ready but they have to send a hardcopy and wanted an address. Wasn't a magazine I'd heard of. I did talk to someone who use a similar spiel and did agree to advertise in another magazine and then revoked it a few weeks later when I became suspicious after receiving yet another call asking for advertising.

The usual line that they rang a while ago & said they would call back & that I had agree to advertising in the magazine. None of this is true as it is a scam. Consumer Affairs Victoria stress that any agreement to advertising has to be made in writing so don't believe anything they say
