Caller claims he is from Amazon and someone has gotten into my account to buy a suspicious transaction for an iPhone11 and that my IP address is being used.
He recited my email address to me and checked whether I had an iPhone or Android. He asked me to hold the line and said that someone will talk me through what to do to get the money returned to me. He tried to sound genuinely upset that someone placed this order on my behalf.
I know no money went out of my account and I hung up. As soon as I hung up, the phone rang again from a different number, also unknown: 0478 250 611. Seems like the numbers he calls from are auto generated. This one left a message saying: Hello and my name. Background noise was a call centre of sorts.
