Got a call from this number from an Indian sounding man , he was asking about my Optus phone , I told him that Optus was not my provider and asked him what company was he from , he said he was from my telco provider , I told him I don't take unsolicitored calls about my phone - he got " attitude" and said " who are you to say you don't take unsolicited calls " I told him I was the phone holder and if he was going to give me attitude I would hang up - so he hung up

I got a phone call from 0478 202 357 and the guy (with an Indian accent) stated that my number is prepaid and asked if the phone was in my number. When I replied saying, Why are you asking and which company are you calling from? He responded by a horrible and indecent curse. Shameful.

I just received a call from this number an Indian accented man answered and started telling me I was a prepaid number I said no I wasn't and he continued to ask me if I was a prepaid number I thought it fishy and hung up googled the number and this thread came up. I got no name or anything just hi I'm calling about your number you are prepaid yes?

0478 202 431 got a call from this number and the gentleman had an Indian accent. He told me I won a brand new adroid phone. He then asked me my mobile number...:0 I foud this funny, how could he call me without knowing my number? lol, so I asked him where he was calling from and he hung up...did a google search and got his number on this thread.

Keep getting a call from a with held number and when I pick up I get a female voice saying"thank you for booking with Virgin Airlines" at that point I hang up as I haven't booked a recent flight with them. Has anyone else got these calls, they sound like a recorded message?

I have blocked these numbers on my handset. Easy.

Called at 10pm. Tried to get name and when he couldn't used abusive language. Very noisy in the background

Number 0478 202 357. I received a call just now from this number, he told me his name was David. I just got this call right now offering me a new phone. I asked where was he from? Answer was optus? I asked did I have to give him any information? At which point he asked for my name, DOB and Address. I said I am not willing to give that information over the phone, which he then asked for my age, am i over 18? I said I'm in my twenties but I'm not going to give details and I decline the offer and then he asked if i had a boyfriend at which I said that was definately none of his business, which he then asked do I want him to be? Hell no and please do not call this number again.
Scumbag!! I guess it was pretty obvious I wasn't gonna fall for his bs so he became really inappropriate.

Phoned Optus in regards to this number i was advised by Optus it is a scam, they do not call from private numbers or mobile phones.

I have been receiving a bunch of similar calls from this number, 0403 002 179 and also 0434 770 487.

(I answer and don't say anything, a woman tries talking but I can't hear anything due to the loud/busy background so I hang up).

Is anyone else getting the calls from the other two numbers?

Optus - annoying, couldnt say where they were calling from, eventually hung up after I asked what phone company they use

I received a call today from this number but I am overseas so I didn't answer. I was extremely surprised to find all of the comments here on doing a search of the number. In any case, I can say that it is still being used to call people at this stage: December 23, 2013

Guy called me (which is strange because this is one of the few times I even turned my mobile on this month)and called to confrm my contract type. I told him it was post-paid and he hung up on me.

They called me on 0478 202 764 and they said the exact same things as the previous comments. They put me through to the supervisor (which I found extremely strange) and he basically repeated the exact same thing as the person before. I asked "Whose name is this under?" (cos my phone is sort of under my dad's name) and he was like "I don't know" then hung up. Annoying scammers.

i just received a call from this number - the lady (indian accent) began to tell me that i am a optus pre-paid customer, i responded with "no i am not" (i was a previous optus customer but i am now with telstra). i asked her where she was calling from, she would not answer my question and once again told me i am a pre-paid customer and asked how much i pay a month, my response was "why would i tell you how much i pay a month when you can't even tell me where you are calling from" she then hung up.

She told me she was from Optus, but it was VERY noisy in her call centre and I couldn't really understand. She wanted to give me a new contract for the same amount ($30) but with a free phone. When I said I didn't want to this on the phone, she gave me her supervisor. He asked me again which contract I would have and If I want to have a new phone. When I told him again that I wouldn't be interested in doing this on the phone he it was silence and I hung up. Now they called again, I did not answer but searched the number and found this... I thought of something like this!

Got a call from this number with the guy saying he is from optus and wanting me to confirm my name and service type, he was offering a free phone. When I gave him a bit of grief saying shouldn't he know all the details he told me to f*ck off and hung up.

Phoned up asking about Optus, asking to confirm what my contract type was and if it was in my name. When I asked why he repeated his question, and referd to himself as a teacher knowing the answer and wanting me to tell him, I asked again and he hung up

Telemarketing - offering a "free mobile phone" When I said I don't want one, asked "what's the problem with having a new phone?" Annoying!
