Caller: Said they were from PayPal

This afternoon I received a call from this number purporting to be from PayPal and saying that a potential fraudulent transaction had been made from my account by "Global Shower Agency??". Apart from saying they were from PayPal and calling me by my first name, very disconcerting by the way, there was no way to know if it was a legit call or not but something in the way she was speaking to me felt familiarly off. Made me think it was probably a Scam Call.

When I questioned her, she kept talking over me and avoided answering any of my questions, also saying they'd have to put a hold on the transaction. She was probably trying to scare me to try and get information she wanted out of me. I’m afraid I just stopped listening to her and said I'd check it myself and hung up.

I reported the number to PayPal, but I very much doubt that will stop them but here's hoping this post at least gives someone else a heads up. Stay safe and don't answer their questions if you didn't initiate the call. Check directly always.
