Gumtree scam, I was selling an item. Received sms from this number asking to be contacted via email. The email then wanted payment details (PayPal or bank account details). Content of the messages indicated they were automated.

I received a SMS from 0447 254 068 wanting to know if my car was still for sale and could I contact him by email as there was bad internet connections.
I contacted the above person via email rogerwallallen @ outlook.com and made a deal for him to purchase my vehicle.
He said he sent the cash through paypal to my bank account but paypal would not deposit the cash until i sent $2000.00 to his carrier to pick up the car. Once I sent him the receipt of sending the $2000.00 paypal would deposit the rest of the cash into the nominated account. I told him I would not be paying any cash to him or anyone else and unless he deposited the cash into my nominated account there would be no deal. I heard nothing more.YEAH RIGHT? Too many RED Flags and not a good scam. I reported the incident to paypal via phishing scam, who in turn work with the police to block or arrest the culprits involved. For your information.

Hello, I was just about to make the payment when I received an email from the pickup agent. The pickup agent requested the pickup fee of $200 before they scheduled a pick date and time. They only accept apple store gift cards for safe cash conversion as their mode of payment but unfortunately, I am unable to get to any store at the moment to purchase the apple gift card due to my present location on sea. I will include the $200 to the money I am sending to you right away so you can help me with the apple store card. You can buy the apple gift card at stores helping around you like JB HI FI, KMART, BIG W, 7 ELEVEN and TARGET.

Even sent fake MDL.
Did not answer any questions when öasked.
How they cannot be tracked gets me,.

Just had a text message from 0477 752 880 wanting more info on a item I had for sale with me to respond via email to Rogerallenwall @ gmail.com . I then responded via email and now haven’t replied to his email response after looking up these posts above . His enquiry was generated by a car I advertised yesterday on Carsales .( I have nothing for sale on gumtree as per the previous posts
