I have posted my car for sale yesterday on gumtree...in the evening I have got sms message from Daniel (or "Daniel") ..." I want to buy your car. Contact: danielstedmondz @ gmail.com " ..I could not reply to this sms message and the phone number is not shown...doing internet search using words "daniel stedmondz" I came across this collection of comments...be aware people...also apart from this, on gumtree I had basically instant offer from somebody to buy my car (full price)...when I asked would he like to come to inspect the car before the purchase, his account Wilbart -this person in not longer reachable....just to let you know...cheers

Email about remote site can only Email no reception in Darwin. Wanted location final asking price. Pay with PayPal or direct deposit asked for bank details. Had arranged courier to pick up only need receipt. All bullsh*t scammers. So don't give Daniel stedmond anything

Had the same Daniel Stedmond, wanted to buy my boat working remotely in Northern Territory wanted me to pay the freight as his pay pal merchant account wasn’t accepted by the courier company. Have reported to scam watch

Changed name from Stedmon to Stedmond. Same message as those above. Said he will send courier to collect my caravan, sight unseen. Same ploy as scammer who was sending a courier to collect my aeroplane a few years ago. He, too, said he was on a remote site out of Darwin. I doubt that this mongrel is even in Australia.

Tried to scam us out of 1500 dollars said he was in Darwin working remotely couldn’t contact via mobile poor service etc reported to fraud department with Suncorp as sent a bsb and Suncorp account

Total scammer. Wanted $2,000 into couriers account. Had all the same emails as above. Starts with a text leads to email then what’s app then PayPal. When I declined I got a new text different number and name kingstevenman @ gmail.com wow how bad

The same scammer still at it as of 10/01/25. Same email and name verbatim for my caravan ad.

Same as above. Thankfully I woke up early enough and all is well - but this person needs to be stopped!

Just got the identical message re my advertised kayak sale. Gumtree needs to take some proactive steps!!!!

I’m out of town ATM now for work and i do not have access to receive calls at the moment due to nature of my work but I will be very happy if you can just get back to me with some information about it

I know it’s very hard dealing online this way due to the scam going around, but I can send you a copy of my license for you to be sure.
As regards payment, I can easily make a deposit into your account from my PayPal into your bank or your PayPal account as My PayPal account is linked with My CommBank Card.

I got the same message, but from 0410 370 369. 99% certain it's a scam. He wanted a copy of my drivers licence. Still in discussion with him, but I think it's attempted identity theft.

Stuffed with the wrong person!!!

Same sh*t, it wont stop. Every day the same number and different numbers. Same story all the same stories.
Just getting more evidence for the wallopers.
If they keep up I will never sell any thing again. Easier to give it away.
