They messaged me tonight literally 2 minutes after I posted a wanted ad for tickets. Thank goodness for this resource here. I will make it my business to message as many people as possible who post wanted ads to be careful. Gumtree should really do some kind of community notice about this.

I got "Jess". I think they slipped up as apparently their phone was dying so gave me a "work number" 0402 666 403) - you can search this in Facebook and up comes Murtaza Rahimi - I have reported to ACCC scamwatch.

This complaint doesn't relate to this mobile number directly - it's 0402 666 403. I got a message from 'Elizabeth Anderson' offering concert tickets - they mentioned they'd seen my gumtree post. they sent me their drivers licence. Foolishly though, I decided to trust this person and I paid them $150. lost it now. I wish I googled properly beforehand so I knew it was scam. Never again!

I was almost bilked out of 350 for tickets...when I asked for proof of the tickets they stopped responding. I punched in the number on a hunch..lo and behold, a Gumtree scammer. BEWARE.

Glad i did a search on google with her name and number otherwise would have lost $200. Same thing happened as soon as i posted my add on guntree got a text msg offering 3 tickets for 350, i needed only 2 and was willing to pay 200 for them. Ask her to send me row and seat number. Didnt hear back so tried calling and got dodgy voice mail so got a little suspicious and looked her up on google and found this post. Phew!

Scammed me selling tickets on Gumtree. When you register a SIM card these days you need to verify with ID? Surely this is enough evidence that we can get the police to force the telco to release their information?

The exact same thing happened to me. Claimed to be a Jessica Anderson and I asked her to send me a photo of her drivers license to be sure and she did so I transferred "her" $300. Never saw the tickets and found out the license photo she sent me is from google

Scam - Messaged me selling tickets, said she didn't have Paypal as she's never sold anything online before. When I asked her about these previously comments she never wrote back.
