Caller: Visa / Mastercard scammer Got a robocall saying that $550 has been debited from my Visa or Mastercard account to make a purchase on bay or amazon. To stop it I had to press 1 and speak to an operator.
Knowing it was a scam I pressed 1. The person announced that He was from the Visa/Mastercard fraud department he asked what I wanted to talk to him about.
Although, considering where he was working I would have thought it was obvious. I told him that I wanted to stop the $550 that was spent on my Visa card but as soon as I said this they hung up.
Perhaps they remembered that they have dealt with me before.
Anyway, do not go to any website they suggest and do not download any software they want you to download. Do not give any identifying information about yourself. Tell them only lies.
They just want your I.D. email addresses, passwords bank account details etc. They want to take you for everything they can and even to get you to pay for it.
