I answered and there was a moment of quiet before the call ended... Is it bad to call it back? Cos I did but I never got through..

I answered the call and said hello a couple of times, I could hear background noise but no one spoke to me. They then hung up. 🤷‍♀️

Bloke claims to be from the Australian Institute of Statistics. There is no such thing.
Must work from a list with some detailed info, as he knew my first name.
Started asking about personal info: housing situation, marital situation, family income.
Hung up immediately when I told him I would not answer.

Claimed to be Australian Institute of Research to see if tax benefit are eligible. Caller was rude and abrupt.

Scam

Called me many time. Call back but looks like a wrong number. Blocked.

Called 3 times in 4 hours and didn't leave a message. I answered the last call and was advised that they were wanting to discuss a tax benefit for property owners in the workforce between the age of 25 and 50. (Spam)

I answered, he said "Am I speaking with [myname]?" I said yes, and then he said "I'm from the ABS..." but at the same time, the other phone call I had been on hold with for ages answered me so I quickly said goodbye. Sounds like that was a good thing! But he had my name, unlike the other comments here.

Kept them on the line for a while. Said nothing to them. Could her the cure playing in the background.

Older mature sounding guy claiming to be doing a 'research study' for a Tax Benefit scheme for home owners who are working.....
Could hear other people talking like he was in a call centre/telemarketer
Don't know where they got my number
Never give out any of your personal info
Just hang up and block them!

Has been ringing for days I tried to call back and the call ends before it connects ..... can’t wait till the call again now I know it’s spam

Called, I answered without saying anything, they hung up straight away.

Rang 01-March 2018 then again 07-March-2018. I didn't answer no message left. Blocked number.
