The above is not correct, the person who rang from this number was ringing up in regards to a debt on a motor vehicle, and had nothing to do with the courts, I was behind in payments, he identified himself as the bailiff, which had nothing to do with this, he is licensed as a debt collector with the office of fair trading, he is also a bailiff, however he was not performing the duties of a bailiff, he was super aggressive and was argumentative, when I advised him that I knew legislation and what he was doing was incorrect he changed his attitude straight away.

Please check with the Cairns Magistrates Court for further details on the appointed Bailiffs. This number is the Bailiffs Office number and is not a debt collector as stated in your complaint.

Bailiffs of the Magistrates Court are appointed under section 3C(1) of the Magistrates Courts Act 1921. Once appointed, a bailiff is under the direction of the Principal Registrar of the Magistrates Courts pursuant to section 3C(5) of the Magistrates Courts Act 1921.

Bailiffs of the Supreme and District Court are appointed under the Supreme Court of Queensland Act 1991, the District Court of Queensland Act 1967 and the Public Service Act 2008. Once appointed, a bailiff is under the direction of the Principal Registrar of the Supreme and District Courts pursuant to the Supreme Court of Queensland Act 1991, the District Court of Queensland Act 1967 and the Public Service Act 2008.
